Alvaros

I dined at Alvaro's for breakfast. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant. It's very clean and the staff is friendly and courteous. I ordered their "especial" which was 2 eggs, bacon ham or sausage, toast and home fries or grits. It was a little bland, but that's what salt and pepper are for. The service was extremely fast (this was a Thursday). I really wanted eggs benedict, but the menu is limited. The nice thing was coffee was included in the price of the meal, so for $6 (without tip) it was a bargain. I would say if you're not looking for anything fancy, Alvaro's fills the hole at a reasonable price.

In North Port Florida, original local mom-and-pop food is always great, prices you can't beat. Staff always polite. Sad to say I understand they're closing at 2 p.m. due to low business load. North Port is growing by Leaps and Bounds. The small strip mall used to be the city center, at the other end of this building used to be the post office, also used as the city jail. :-)

It’s a little hole in the wall. My friend’s food was delicious, mine was dry and gross. Did not like it at all! And the bread appetizer we ordered was not so good either.
